1. If I become a client, what kind of services can I expect over a year?

      The creation and implementation of a financial plan. Then we personalize "the Ontrack Monitor." Usually this involves contacts in person or by phone on a quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis — or more regularly as situations necessitate. We send market update letters two-three times a year. We are always available to do whatever it takes to make your money management program easy for you.

    2. How do I know which partner is best suited me and my needs?

      When you call our office, an initial assessment will be made to determine your needs. This will enable us to determine with whom you should have a conversation.

    3. What can I expect from an initial meeting with one of the partners?

      We have two types of initial meetings.

      One is a get-acquainted meeting where you and a partner visit by phone or in person to see if there is a basis for working together. You can ask all the questions you need to find out if we are the right advisors for you. We also ask questions to ascertain if our services and their cost will bring value to you.

      Another is a working session where we ask you many questions to find out your vision, values and goals. Then we ask you details about your financial situation. We review our menu of services and discuss with you how we can help you accomplish your desired financial situation and an estimate of the cost involved.

    4. Who decides how my money will be invested?

      We consider it our job to ask you the questions and control the information-gathering and planning process. When we apply "The Strategy Filter" step of our process, we give you the options that best suit you. You always make the final decision.

    5. Do you consider yourselves to be aggressive or conservative regarding investments?

      We work with you to assess your goals and risk tolerance and design portfolios that suit your needs. we structure investment programs to be conservative, moderate or somewhat aggressive. Our clients are usually moderate risk takers. We aren't a good match for those who want or need aggressive portfolios.

    6. What are the fees involved in working with FVB&E?

      We work on an hourly basis or a set project consultation fee when doing planning work. When implementing investment programs, we charge a percentage of assets under management or on a commission basis. All fees are discussed with you prior to any work being done.

    7. Do the partners all charge the same fees?

      The partners fees are similar. However, based on specialization, they may vary.

    8. What guarantees do you make?

      We guarantee you will get the best possible service. When you participate in our proprietary process, you will be able to make informed choices regarding your life and your money. If you feel we did not provide you adquate value, you don't owe us anything.

    9. Can you help a business owner select and manage the investments in a company's qualified retirement plan?

      Yes, FVBE&P is a co-author of the Business Owners Retirement Plan Survival Guide and has been helping businesses establish their pension plans for more than 15 years. FVBE&P has the capability to analyze current plans concerning its fees, structure, administration and investments. This is done on a project fee basis.

    10. Can I get all the services I get from a brokerage firm, such as checking, internet access stock and bond trading?

      Yes, through our Registered Investment Advisory, we offer many of the same options you would find at a major brokerage firm.

    11. Can you handle stock and bond purchases for me?

      Through our Registered Investment Advisory, we provide brokerage accounts for holding stocks, bonds, mutual funds and money market accounts. However, we feel that you are best served when the investments are maintained through professionally managed portfolios. We recommend that anyone desiring frequent individual stock or bond trades not set up their account with us.
