How We're Different

Where We Start:

First, we start by getting to know your definition of a fulfilled life, the life you want — and by understanding your vision, values and goals. We call this working "above the line." Then, we work together to implement the strategies, tactics and tools "below the line" to make your vision a reality. Money is the tool to provide the life you want.

Our Experience

The four partners have more than 100 years of experience doing financial and estate planning and investment management. The firm was founded in 1986 and the partners have been together since the beginning.

Our Fee-Based Services:

  • We do financial planning for a fee. This enables you to receive planning and decide later if other advisors or our firm will implement the plan.
  • We give "second opinion" evaluations on investment portfolios managed by other advisors so you can have peace of mind about your portfolio from a third party.
  • We evaluate pension plan portfolios to assist trustees to follow the "prudent man rule" for their investment management responsibilities and liability exposure.
  • We offer investment management on a fee basis.

We Are Independent:

We have no ties to any investment strategies or managers. We are driven to search for the strategies and investments that we evaluate as best for you.

Our Clients Are Long Term:

Our client relationships are maintained over long periods of time.

Our Program is Not for Everyone:

Those who derive the full value from what we offer normally have a minimum net worth of $1 million and an investment portfolio of at least $500,000.* Those who benefit most from our services are in financial transition:

  • If you have done a lot of piecemeal planning but now want to find out how it fits together, whether it coordinates with your long-term goals and what other strategies exist that would be appropriate for your situation.
  • If you have scattered investments and want to consolidate them into a well-managed portfolio.
  • If you have gone through a life-changing event such as being widowed or divorced, have received an inheritance or are preparing to retire or sell a business, you are someone who needs to revisit your plan — or perhaps plan for the first time.
  • * Personal referrals are considered on an individual basis. If you have not been referred, contact your CPA or attorney.

Confidentiality:

We do not reveal the identity of our clients or any of their financial information unless given permission to do so in accord with our code of ethics as Certified Financial Planners.

We Help Our Community:

All partners volunteer and contribute to many organizations and causes in the Sacramento area.
